Beratan Lake is the second largest lake in Bali, and is a source of irrigation for rice fields and plantations around the village of Bedugul.

divide the lake into three parts: Bratan, Buyan and Lake Tamblingan. Beratan name comes from the word Brata, which means doing a person to fill the 9 primary needs in life. The word is used in a "Tapa Brata," which means meditation and integrated with nature.
